holy exaggerating stepmother, batman!

so i talked to my dad today and his story is TOTALLY different than my stepmother's. he says that he told his company he thought they might be unhappy with him and that he would rather leave and find a new position than get fired. they didn't try to keep him around (suggesting they were, in fact, unhappy with his division) and so they hammered out some sort of deal. then he told me is waiting on not one, but TWO offers to come through from companies he's been talking to.

so it's not AT ALL like he is out of a job and depressed and looking. he's taking the month off and having fun fishing with his buddies who are retired.

whew! so. utterly. relieved.

i can only imagine what the trip with my stepmom is going to be like. i'll have to divide everything she says by a hundred ebfore i evaluate its urgency. still i'm glad she's able to do the drive with me, it IS no complaining thursday, after all!
